Due Diligence Reporter and Producer

New Posted 27 December 2023 | New York, NY | Financial Times

The FT is looking for a talented reporter to join the team that writes and reports for Due Diligence, the news organisation’s flagship global briefing on corporate finance, mergers & acquisitions and private equity.

We are looking for an enterprising and financially literate journalist who is comfortable with multi-tasking to help build on the success of Due Diligence, which reaches over 42,000 premium FT subscribers.

This is a great opportunity for an early-career journalist seeking to learn from some of the best reporters in the business and play a role in shaping the future of financial and business news and how it is consumed. The role is based in New York City.

The candidate will write for Due Diligence and pull together contributions from a core set of correspondents on a daily basis. The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to corporate finance coverage as part of the FT’s global reporting network.

Due Diligence has grown from a newsletter to a platform producing a series of live events around the world and the candidate is expected to influence the series’ editorial development and execution. Additional initiatives are also in the works.

On Any Given Day, You May Need To

Produce and edit Due Diligence content
Write a punchy concise note for the daily newsletter
Act as an additional reporter on breaking news and larger enterprise projects
Work on strategies to grow the newsletter’s audience

Who we are looking for

Knowledge of and a demonstrable interest in global business and financial markets is an advantage but not essential. More important is an appetite to learn quickly what makes the business personalities in the dealmaking world tick and turn these insights into world-class corporate reporting.

We are looking for a team player willing to work closely with all members of the newsroom. Keen interest or experience in the competitive environment for newsletters would be an added bonus and how best to engage a finance-focused audience.

Please submit your application by the end of the day, Thursday 11 January 2024.
