We are looking for a scoop-getting business correspondent to join the San Francisco bureau to tackle one of the most exciting corporate beats at the FT. This person will lead our coverage of Apple, which has grown to become the world’s biggest listed company by revolutionising mobile and personal computing, helping to change how the world communicates. This is a news-driven beat, with Apple active in not only helping shape the technology industry, but upending other sectors that are among the most important to our daily report, including finance, media and advertising. It also is an important player in policy issues like data privacy, corporate taxes and US-China relations.

Despite its near ubiquity in FT coverage areas, Apple remains a very tough nut to crack, tightly controlling its public image and limiting access to journalists. As a result, the successful candidate should have a track record of developing sources in hard-to-reach places and uncovering exclusives where less intrepid reporters might struggle.This includes talking to suppliers and other companies that work with Apple in order to get a complete picture of its operations.
