The USA TODAY NETWORK Video Series, Special Projects, and Sports team seeks a Producer to help produce, coordinate, and grow a slate of short-form and mid-form video series. The Producer will assist in editorial planning, production, coordination, and publishing/storytelling strategy across platforms, with a focus on digital strategy and storytelling on social media and emerging platforms, and USA TODAY O&Os. Tracking series performance and helping forge innovative strategies for audience and revenue growth is a key component of this role. You will work on flagship series in verticals such as news, lifestyle, entertainment, sports, and more.
The ideal candidate possesses a strong command of the entire digital video and social media ecosystem. You have an intrinsic working knowledge of trends and audience preferences in those spaces. You’re laser-focused on editorial and best practices, with great attention to detail and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent editorial judgment and knowledge/passion for a range of verticals, including lifestyle, tech, news, and entertainment, is essential.
The Producer will be a key stakeholder within USA TODAY Studios and the broader USA TODAY Network video organization, involved in developing, strategizing, and planning a range of other series and projects as well. The role requires a hands-on performer and excellent communicator, with the ability to interface with editors, producers, reporters, product and sales teams around the USA TODAY Network.
Responsibilities:
Help grow a slate of video series and special projects.
Assist in publishing process to ensure content is optimized across multiple platforms.
Track analytics and measure series performance against audience and revenue goals, draw conclusions and recommend strategies to optimize performance across platforms.
Work with the broader video team, digital distribution team to include social, content and sales teams, across the USA TODAY Network.
Work with editors and producers to ensure on time day-to-day content delivery.
Track performance and use information to execute strategy.
Requirements:
Bachelor's or master’s degree in communications, journalism, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
3+ years of professional experience in digital media with a focus on ,video production,audience strategy,and editorial.
In-depth experience in all editorial and production aspects of premium digital video.
Experience producing video for digital platforms in multiple formats.
Strong writing and editorial decision-making skills.
Understanding of Web technology, CMS systems, digital video, digital audio, streaming, video editing, and Web analytics.
