General Assignment Reporter

We're looking for a general assignment reporter to cover news in Rio Arriba County and the Española valley. This position will be responsible for general beat reporting, cultivating local sources and following local news. Applicants need to demonstrate a firm grasp of reporting and have solid writing abilities. The ideal candidate will be able to produce eight to 10 stories per week, covering city and county government, education, events, crime, courts, politics and more. Candidates will have an advantage if they have experience accessing public records, databases and other digital tools for reporting. Basic photography skills also helpful. This position will report to Managing Editor Jen Burnham.
