The Office of Communications and Marketing is currently seeking a Writer/Editor. Communications and Marketing develops and implements strategy and tactics for showcasing and raising the visibility of the university’s experts, initiatives, and accomplishments. It manages media inquiries and interviews with senior university leadership and produces print and online publications to showcase the university. This position will write for a range of George Washington University publications, communications and materials, including content for GW Today, the university’s flagship online publication; university websites; GW’s alumni magazine; newsletters and other constituency-based communications. The position will also provide editing and copyediting support. Writer/editors need agility and ability to think strategically to produce content that promotes the university’s priorities, including academic reputation, student experience, research, enrollment, and alumni engagement and philanthropy. Writer/editors also need to be excellent storytellers who can write for a range of content formats, including feature stories, a narrative approach to news stories where appropriate, newsletter and website content, and for a broad audience, comprising current and prospective students, their parents, faculty, staff and alumni.
