ABOUT THE ROLE

Part of Good Housekeeping’s specialist consumer affairs department, working across all platforms. Generating topical, relevant, accessible money and consumer affairs content with good SEO for GH; writing, updating and building GH and GHI newsletters; and creating money content for Financially Fabulous newsletters. The ability to repurpose content for Prima, Red and other Hearst brands, as required.

Key Responsibilities:

Initiating consumer affairs and money advice ideas for print and digital, based on good SEO.
Creating content for and building newsletters.
Creating engaging social media posts on consumer content and money advice.
Writing consumer affairs, money and, as required, household advice content for GH platforms.
Writing and updating consumer affairs, money and, when required, household advice content for the GH website to help drive organic traffic.
Repurposing money content for other brands, as required.
To be an ambassador of Hearst UK and its values.
You may be required to undertake such further duties as your skills, qualifications and experience allow and/or as may be assigned to you from time to time.

Key Relationships:

Working within the Good Housekeeping team, reporting to the Consumer Affairs Directors. Daily contact with all other members of the Good Housekeeping and Good Housekeeping Institute brand team. Contact with the production and visual centres of excellence.
Contact with other portfolios to sometimes repurpose content for other brands.
Building a contacts book of money and consumer experts and PRs.

Knowledge and Skills:

Ability to meet daily, weekly and monthly deadlines and manage workload effectively.
Proven track record of ability to write accurately, factually and at speed (including fact checking).
Sound knowledge of SEO and aptitude with Google Analytics.
A self-motivated, inquisitive and flexible writer with a portfolio that reflects a keen interest in and subject knowledge of consumer affairs and personal finance.
Ability to work through set tasks independently and anticipate what might be required next. To take ownership of newsletter creation and building.
Experience of writing across a range of formats (including features, news writing and digital).
Good working relationships with other departments to provide our specialist content.
Ability to generate fresh ideas working with data and insight.
