Publishing & Social Media Editor

GreatNews.Life is looking to hire a Publishing and Social Media Editor to be a part of the team that creates and shares our positive news to a large online audience. This position allows for a flexible schedule and will assist the team in editing and publishing content. These shifts are days as well as during evening and weekend work hours. This role is the core of our good news mission. This is a great role for responsible self-starter looking to get into the world of media, content marketing and social media.

Job specifications:

20-30 hours per week
Must be available most nights and weekends

Job Responsibilities:

Editing, publishing and posting stories on social media
Providing constructive feedback geared toward developing writers and photographers to continued growth
Social media monitoring and engagement on Facebook Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram

Desired Qualifications:

A great communicator and facilitator - keeping our coverage team, internal staff and our digital networks connected
At ask-based driver with social media experience who understands and appreciates the value of effective writing, digital content management and deadlines
Proven experience learning new software tools
HTML experience preferred, but not required
Content management system experience preferred, not required
Candidates must have a reliable, functioning laptop to work remotely. This includes the capability to download and use necessary applications. Familiarity with Google Drive is essential, as all work-related files and documents will be shared and saved through this platform.
