Hearst Television is seeking an aggressive, creative, talented investigative photojournalist/editor to join its award-winning National Investigative Unit based at the Hearst Washington Bureau. The National Investigative Unit develops original, unique, ambitious, enterprise, in-depth content that brings national news of relevance to our local markets across the country. Since 2018, the Unit has broken stories about the FBI, DNI, FAA, FDA, DHS, EAC, and on many topics ranging from election security to drone defense to combating hate crimes, vaping, and more. Candidates for this investigative photojournalist position should be: tech savvy; able to shoot on a wide range of ENG cameras and other newsgathering devices and accompanying audio equipment; excellent at non-linear editing, with knowledge of Adobe creative suite and Adobe Premiere experience highly preferred; exceptional with time-management abilities; effective with communication and organization; with an eye for engaging, and national-level video, sound, and lighting; and excited by new storytelling methods and platforms. We are looking for a visual storyteller committed to compelling sequences, deliberate lighting, vivid video, and riveting natural sound.
