Requesting one full-time professional copywriter for a 8 week assignment to draft email templates (~150 in total) which will ultimately be sent to our policy owners. This is part of a large initiative to create new communications on a modernized platform, SEND-IT. The copywriters will create the emails based off of the finalized letter version. They will be given copywriting/tone of voice guidelines which include reusable headlines and paragraphs for some of the content. They will be supervised by the Head of Copywriting for the Service Experience value stream.
These are service-related emails to policy owners of life and annuity products. These emails are generated by customer service representatives and cover a variety of categories and reasons for outreach.
The major categories are:
Policy Administration (e.g., when a client wants to update his/her address)
Contract changes and reinstatements (e.g., changing the name of the owner, reinstating a policy that lapsed)
Payments (e.g., a client sent in a complete or partial premium payment, loan payment, etc.)
Disbursements (Client has disbursed a sum of money from the policy owner’s annuity at the policy owner’s request)
Claims (Client has received information and provided information from a beneficiary need which is needed to process a life or annuity death benefit claim)
In each category, the intent of the correspondence generally falls into the following types:
Policy owner sent us information that is not in good order (NIGO) and we are reaching out to get what we need so we can process the request
Client needs information from the policy owner for our records (e.g., TIN#)Client needs to provide information to the policy owner
Client is confirming a transaction was processed (e.g., we completed their request to update their beneficiary)
We have letters that cover all of these categories. The copywriter will write emails based off the letter content. Because emails are different from letters, the content will have consistency with each letter, but this will not be a copy/paste exercise.
We will provide email copywriting guidelines as well as sample letters and their email equivalents for this project at the appropriate time.
Regarding what we need from a potential candidate:
Work samples
Availably to begin right away and work full time (40 hrs/week)
Experience in the insurance/financial services industry and copywriting for service as opposed to marketing communications are definite plusses, but are not required.
