Homebuilding & Renovating is looking to hire an Assistant Editor to join its digital team. If you’re an experienced writer with a passion for the self-build and renovation world, we want to hear from you!

What you’ll be doing

As Assistant Editor at Homebuilding & Renovating you’ll be tasked with writing and editing new content as well as managing and actively improving the archive of older content on our site.

You'll be responsible for ensuring all content on the website meets the highest standards of editorial quality, expertise and – in broad terms – conforms to latest Google SEO advice. Working closely with the Deputy Editor (digital) you'll also play a role in editorial calendar planning and management. You'll also work closely with the print team to deliver a range of high-quality articles and case studies for the magazine.

Experience that will put you ahead of the curve…

First-rate writing, grammar and sub-editing skills.
A strong interest in and understanding of the homes sector.
Understanding of basic SEO principles.
Working knowledge of Google Analytics and Google Search Console (we can upskill).
A discerning eye – you will be required to assess image quality and suitability.
You’ll have a passion for web editing and closely monitor results on the back of the work you’re doing.

The expected range for this role is £29,000 - £35,000.
