We’re looking for an SEO expert who is goal oriented and quality obsessed, and keen to be part of one of today’s most successful homes media brands - Homes & Gardens.
As Head of Solved, you'll be responsible for leading a team focused on creating brilliant how-to content for the website. Solved is one of our most important content pillars, covering everything from informative design advice through to laundry and housekeeping.
What you’ll be doing
You'll run the Solved section of homesandgardens.com, driving growth and hitting audience and eCommerce targets for that content category. You'll plan, commission and create industry-leading content, edit ruthlessly to ensure all content on your section is best quality and is optimised for visibility on search and social and contribute to the overall audience strategy for Homes & Gardens, liaising with the Brand Director, Editor and other key stakeholders to identify appropriate keywords and build out content pyramids.
You'll monitor audience traffic opportunities for the section, manage the performance of your most important traffic-generating pages, looking at overall traffic and keyword rankings, actioning changes to articles and supporting content, analyse the traffic and ecommerce revenues achieved by content in your section and show how you can adapt our output to suit, and when required, ensure content is published and marketed effectively through the use of push notifications, video and social media..
Experience that will put you ahead of the curve…
Relevant editorial experience with proven background in digital and the worlds of homes/gardens
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong visual sensibilities; commercial-first mindset combined with editorial nous. You need to be able to deliver top-flight content on a consistent basis.
First-rate SEO expertise and a keen interest in and understanding of analytical tools, which you’ll use to inform your content.
A strategic thinker with an eye for detail, you’ll be all over the performance of your section, spotting strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats.
Management experience and leadership skills, so you can motivate your team to success.
A strong contacts book, with a clear interest in both celebrity media and interior design. An eye on the US design world is a bonus.
Ability to work calmly under pressure, be focused on goals with a sense of urgency, self-guidance and ability to quickly turn an idea into a final product.
Collaborative team player, with a resourceful can-do attitude, who thrives in a competitive, fast-paced environment; ability to work cross-functionally and directly with clients.
