The Honolulu Star-Advertiser is seeking a deputy editor for the newspaper's opinion-editorial section, "Views & Voices."
The successful applicant will be an experienced journalist with solid knowledge of Hawaii's issues, in order to vet and edit readers' letters to the editor, which will be a primary responsibility. This position also allows significant input on the newspaper's editorial opinions, which can influence community discussions and help advance public policy for Hawaii.
Also: She/he must be a team player and self-starter. Being able to work well under daily deadlines is required, as is writing experience. Working knowledge of page layout is a big plus. This is a full-time, remote-work position, with occasional need for in-person editorial board meetings.
To apply, please send a resume and at least three published articles to Editorial Page Editor Lucy Young-Oda at lyoungoda@staradvertiser.com (no calls).
