The Edelman Brand team produces highly successful brand communications for a wide range of clients. Passionate about developing creative ideas to help the world’s biggest brands connect with their audiences, we work collaboratively across the entire Edelman network to transform brands’ reputations.

In order to continue to grow and deliver at a pace, we’re now looking for an energetic, experienced and ambitious Account Director to play a lead role on one of the world’s largest Personal Care brands. You will be responsible for managing teams of up to five– some of whom you’ll directly line-manage – as well as being the key point person for other specialist teams across the agency.

This is a significant role that allows a candidate the autonomy to lead a central Global team, based in London, as well as working with a number of key markets to help deliver a diverse selection of global campaigns. This person will have a strong agency background, with advanced skills in client and stakeholder management, as well as having a strong knowledge of earned storytelling and media relations, helping to coach and guide junior team members on this.

In addition, the perfect candidate would have a passion for delivering innovative brand work that can truly drive behaviour change with consumers, as well as having an understanding of the value of Purpose-driven work and why it is important for brands to have a strong purpose to engage with the new age consumer.

As an Account Director, this role will sit as part of the Edelman Brand practice’s senior bench, so it will be imperative that you are able to effectively manage budgets and financial processes, as well as working closely with your Directors on capacity planning, forecasting and resource management.

Key Responsibilities:

Foster a strong relationship with key Communications and Marketing clients
Counsel clients confidently and maturely on communications marketing including PR, digital, social and content
Work collaboratively with key Edelman disciplines (Creative, Planning, DxI and Digital) to develop fully integrated campaigns and help unlock growth for the business
Be proactive in sharing news, trends and potential opportunities with clients to ensure that Edelman is positioned as a true partner who understands their business and what’s happening in culture
Be able to run new briefs and deliver integrated responses that are well thought through, innovative and deliver earned at the heart
Be a role model in fostering good team management and relationship-building skills
Independently manage financial processes including cost tracking, resource planning and forecasting
Line manage and mentor junior team members
Identify potential leads and areas of growth within existing clients as well as broader opportunities from a prospecting perspective
Support and develop Edelman’s IP and marketing initiatives, helping to develop our position in the market and maximising the role of the Edelman Trust Barometer for existing and potential clients

Experience, Skill And Qualifications Required

Big/Global Consumer brand experience is essential; experience in beauty and personal care and/or sports is a plus
An established, self-starting Account Director looking for greater autonomy and the opportunity to shape and drive teams
Market management experience
Creative storyteller with a natural curiosity in the cultural landscape and societal trends, and ability to turn those into earned fame and award-worthy work
Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire and unite teams behind a central concept, with experience of successfully selling in those concepts to clients and seeing them through to execution
The gravitas and experience to drive and influence multiple market teams, and to act as a partner providing counsel to senior clients
