E-Commerce Reporter

New Posted 20 October 2022 | San Francisco, New York, Seattle | The Information

The Information was founded in late 2013 with a simple idea: write deeply reported articles about the technology industry that you won’t find elsewhere. Since then, we’ve become a disruptor in business news that’s moved markets, gotten the early scoop on billions of dollars of acquisitions, and told you what’s happening inside companies like Apple, Meta and Google. As a subscription-only publication, we aim high and take on challenging stories and adhere to the highest of journalistic standards. What we put into the work is just as in-depth as our output. We’ve attracted tens of thousands of paying subscribers who look to us for breaking news stories and impactful features. As we look to expand our coverage in alignment with the needs of our subscribers, we continue to invest aggressively in our team. We’re looking for a reporter to cover e-commerce, with a focus on Amazon and Shopify. Both are at critical inflection points following two years of pandemic-driven growth. We’re looking to break news and unpack the complexities of how e-commerce companies are responding to new challenges, including inflation and supply chain issues, the return of in-person shopping, a fast-changing digital advertising landscape and more. This is an exciting and dynamic role in a newsroom that values in-depth reporting and top-notch journalism. You’ll be able to collaborate with other members of our e-commerce team and also have the opportunity to work with reporters focused on enterprise and social media. We’ll want to tell the big stories and profile top leaders at Amazon, but you’ll also have the freedom to go deep on specific aspects of the business like advertising and entertainment.
