The Idaho Mountain Express, an award-winning twice-weekly paper, is looking for someone to assist the editor and cover some beats as a reporter. This is a rare hybrid role in our Ketchum newsroom, suited for someone who can edit stories for grammar, style and facts, as well as produce solid local reporting. Applicants need excellent editing and writing skills, plus a firm grasp of AP style.

This is a great community-journalism job in one of the most beautiful places in the nation in the heart of Idaho’s Rocky Mountains. If you're serious about good journalism and like the idea of living in a great mountain resort area where people can hike, bike or ski on a morning off and experience a world-class performance in the evening, then you may be a good match.

The position is full time, 40 hours a week, primarily in-office. Compensation DOE.

Applicants should have a relevant college degree, at least one-year copy-editing and reporting experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office. The Idaho Mountain Express is situated in Ketchum, one mile from world-class Sun Valley Resort, in the heart of Idaho's Rocky Mountains. Obtaining local housing is challenging, but the newspaper may offer rental housing to the successful candidate.
