Editor, Smart Cities Dive

Industry Dive, a fast-growing business journalism company based in Washington, DC, is looking for an editor to report, write and edit for Smart Cities Dive. We're looking for a talented journalist who wants to break news and dig deep into the trends driving the smart cities movement as well as shape the team’s coverage for optimal impact and readability. Smart Cities Dive covers how local governments are using new strategies and technologies to become more open, accountable, efficient, effective, equitable, resilient, responsive, and sustainable. In addition to our coverage of big-picture smart city tech and data projects, we look at innovations in transportation, housing and zoning, climate change and resilience, buildings and design, public safety and governance. You will own your beat by cultivating relationships with key stakeholders and consistently staying on top of important developments. You will pitch and report several original stories each week and uncover occasional exclusives. You'll also help shape the content of staff and freelance reporters by workshopping story ideas, providing constructive feedback, editing copy and building the newsletter daily. You’ll be a part of a fast-growing digital product in a growing newsroom that gives you the freedom to showcase your creativity.
