Entertainment Business Fellow (January 2023)

Insider’s LA bureau is seeking a full-time fellow to cover the business of Hollywood and the companies competing for streaming subscribers, ad dollars, and creative credibility in an industry reeling from technological disruption. The fellow’s start date will be January 2023 and can be remote from the US, although preference will be given to candidates based in the LA area. The entertainment industry is dominated by giants like Netflix, Disney, Warner Bros. Discovery, and NBCUniversal but tech behemoths like Amazon and Apple are also grabbing audiences and spending big on splashy films and series. Hollywood’s smaller production companies, top writer-producers, talent agencies, and powerful guilds also influence the evolution of the business. We’re looking for an aggressive reporter to cover this dynamic industry by sourcing up inside the leading companies, sniffing out scoops, and exploring the themes, and personalities behind the big deals and the buzzy projects. As consolidation and layoffs ripple across media and entertainment, we are also seeking a candidate who is eager to hold companies accountable for treating employees fairly.
