Insurance Editor, Personal Finance Insider

Insider Inc. is hiring a full-time editor to work with freelance writers covering insurance on our Personal Finance Insider team. Personal Finance Insider (PFI) produces service journalism about money. We help our readers choose the right bank accounts, save more for retirement, pay off their student loans, buy their first homes, and more. We value creativity, accountability, and diversity of ideas and opinions. The editor will oversee PFI’s insurance coverage in the following areas: auto, life, homeowners, renters, travel, and pet. They will outline, assign, and edit reviews of insurance products and services, explainers and answers to insurance questions, and guides to the best insurance products available. The editor will work closely with PFI’s senior editor to ensure coverage is inclusive and intersectional. The ideal candidate will be organized, full of ideas, and enthusiastic about working with freelancers. They will also have some experience editing others. This person is flexible and able to adapt quickly in a fast-paced newsroom. They are a team player who is excited about working in an inclusive environment and getting better every day.
