The Internal Communications Officer is responsible for helping to protect and enhance Pay.UK’s reputation internally and provide colleagues with the tools to engage and support the organisation and its objectives externally.
They will provide internal communications advice and support to the Reputation Lead and Head of Communications, and work closely with colleagues across Pay.UK, including C-suite and the Board to support Pay.UK’s purpose and vision, and the delivery of its strategy.
The Internal Communications Officer is an important role in an agile team delivering comprehensive communications campaigns for Pay.UK.
Key Accountabilities
Support the Reputation Lead with the development and delivery of internal and integrated reputation strategies to ensure Pay.UK is well-placed as a platform leader
Work with Strategic Communications and Planning team to define the impact of internal communications in support of Pay.UK’s strategic priorities
Work closely with the Executive and People teams, to develop and deliver Pay.UK internal communications plans across all channels, ensuring consistent and impactful messages to promote Pay.UK’s brand, vision, culture and values and to drive colleague engagement
Communicate the business change and transformation agenda to colleagues across the organisation
Enhance colleague engagement working the People team, lead the ACE communications in support of the ACE strategy
Run and develop Pay.UK internal communications channels, including the intranet, all-colleague calls, internal collateral
Manage and coordinate corporate internal communication activity across the organisation
Develop and deliver internal briefings for the Executive and the Board
Enhance tools and guidance for colleagues to ‘self-serve’ using our intranet
Supplier management – own the relationship with the intranet provider, ensuring we get value for money and excellent support – work with Procurement to manage the relationship
Support business continuity and crisis communications
Support the wider Communications team to gather and disseminate information, and deliver projects internally and externally
Support integrated strategic communications campaigns across the organisation in an agile fashion, working in a matrix environment with Industry Engagement to ensure seamless and coordinated delivery
Use evaluation tools to ensure the effectiveness of internal communications
Be a brand ambassador for Pay.UK
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
Business relevant qualification to degree or equivalent relevant experience
Experience in internal communications
Knowledge and experience of distilling information from different sources
Experience in payments or the financial services sector an advantage
Proactive and insightful communications professional
Team player, excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective networks
Engaging writer with attention to detail and an inquisitive mind; able to tailor messages for different audiences
Ability to work on several projects, requests and outputs at once – multitasking and prioritisation are key
