Internal News Bulletin Editor

We seek a volunteer with experience in creating an internal news bulletin to help us share news across the estate of the great work our stations perform. We want to provide a platform for stations, to celebrate success stories, share best practice - what works well what does not. Ideally this will be pulling together the stories directly from stations and placed into a simple e-newsletter. All items for inclusion in the news bulletin will primarily come from the stations supplemented with input and updates from the Fundraising Team. The bulletin will either be Bi-Monthly or Monthly dependant on promotional activity happening across the months and content received.

Core Areas of Work

To compile and circulate a station news bulletin for the benefit of our stations and watchkeepers

Gathering stories and articles from across the station network

The news bulletin needs to be an engaging read encouraging continued participation to grow interest in the publication

Write compelling content that is short, relevant, thought-provoking and appealing to a wide audience

The volunteer will have the capacity to plan and work alone but will have guidance from other members of the Fundraising Team

Work with our CRM expert on email marketing systems that represents good value for money and is the right fit for our organisation

Help us plan and articulate how we can use the news bulletin to motivate our supporters and volunteer groups

Core Attributes

Have previous experience in writing a newsletter/ bulletin for an internal audience

Strong writing and editing skills

Ability to quickly understand the needs of the wider team and charity

Experience using email marketing software (such as Mailchimp)

Be able to communicate effectively and clearly to a range of internal customers

Design skills would be useful but not necessary for creating improvements to the layout and display

Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively

Ability to engage and build a rapport with a wide range of people

Be creative, proactive and outgoing

Ability to work independently and remotely

IT competent and confident

This is a remote opportunity, which can be carried out in or out of office hours

Estimated required time varies and open to discussion of what the volunteer can offer
