The Medical and Scientific Writer will oversee the preparation of peer-reviewed manuscripts, manage global author coordination, and ensure meticulous formatting. They will also play a key role in content development for the website, crafting articles and congress reports. Additionally, they will lead in grant development, conducting comprehensive research, creating supporting documents, and ensuring adherence to funding guidelines. The Writer will also support research projects, analyze data, and manage various committees.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Writing, Editing, and Proofreading
Manage and oversee the preparation of peer-reviewed manuscripts, including coordinating with authors globally, facilitating edits and changes to the manuscript, collecting conflict of interest forms, and submitting for publication while adapting work style to meet the authors’ requirements.
Apply uniform formatting throughout the document with meticulous attention to detail.
Aid in creating and selecting scientific illustrations, tables, and figures.
Maintain familiarity with relevant research, conduct literature reviews, and manage references.
Collaborate with the editorial committee to develop and edit scientific content for the website, targeting clinicians and researchers through articles, commentaries, and congress reports.
Grant Development
Identify funding opportunities through thorough research for various medical and scientific projects.
Draft and revise supporting documents for grant submissions, including need assessments and letters of request.
Conduct additional research to complete any informational gaps in the documents.
Interpret and comply with instructions from funding agencies to ensure all documents meet their requirements.
Other Duties
Manage research projects and activities of various working groups and committees.
Design surveys, analyze data, and prepare reports for research projects and program evaluations.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, & SKILLS
Possess a PhD or equivalent in a relevant scientific or medical discipline related to psoriasis.
Have at least four years of experience writing and editing scientific publications and grants.
Ideally, have a background or familiarity with dermatology, immunology, or related health fields.
Demonstrate fluency in English with exceptional writing skills.
Exhibit the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment with a diverse range of individuals.
Showcase strong project management abilities, including the capacity to prioritize, multitask, and independently handle complex projects and initiatives involving both internal and external stakeholders.
Display proficiency in reading, analyzing, and interpreting various scientific, technical, financial, and legal documents.
ADA AND OTHER SPECIFICATIONS:
The position is permanently remote, requiring reliable internet and phone access.
Willingness to travel 1 – 2 times yearly, including potential international travel.
Occasional lifting up to 40 lbs. for event materials.
