We are currently looking for a skilled Media Editor and Digital Designer to contribute to our daily news site by creating engaging video content. The ideal candidate should be social media-savvy and possess a strong portfolio showcasing their interest and expertise in video editing and digital design.

Responsibilities:

Video Editing:

Create compelling video clips from open sources for daily news coverage.
Edit video content for various platforms, ensuring high-quality and engaging visuals and captions.
Collaborate with the editorial team to enhance storytelling through video elements.

Digital Design:

Design graphics and visuals for social media platforms to complement news content.
Ensure a cohesive visual identity across different digital channels.
Stay updated on design trends and incorporate innovative elements into video content.

Social Media Integration:

Collaborate with the team to optimize video content for different platforms.
Understand and implement social media best practices to maximize engagement.
Create visually appealing thumbnails and promotional graphics for video posts.

Portfolio Management:

Provide a portfolio showcasing previous video editing and digital design work.
Demonstrate a keen interest in the position and an understanding of our news brands.

Qualifications:

Proven experience in video editing and digital design.
Familiarity with open-source video materials and their ethical use.
