Communications Specialist

University Communications is looking for a versatile and enthusiastic writer and online content producer to bring fresh ideas and energy to our team. We are seeking a Communications Specialist who will write news articles and other content supporting the editorial and strategic priorities of our office and the university. The Communications Specialist will also co-edit the alumni news section of Johns Hopkins Magazine, a quarterly publication with a circulation of 144,000, guiding stories through the publishing process from start to finish, including story ideation, assigning stories to freelancers, writing and editing stories, and online content production.

The ideal candidate can report and write comfortably and knowledgably on deadline about a wide range of topics and subjects across the university's various divisions and will also spend time on our campuses covering events and talking to affiliates, including undergraduate students, for a variety of stories and projects. Team members also provide broad-based editorial support as needed for university publications, websites, newsletters, and social media efforts.
