Come work in one of North Carolina's fastest-growing counties as a general assignment reporter for the Johnstonian News and JohnstonianNews.com. We're looking for a versatile journalist who can cover local news and tell Johnston County residents' stories in words, pictures and video. The successful candidate will be equally comfortable on a tobacco farm as in the city council chambers and will have a varied diet of breaking news and crime, business, government and features. Photography skills are required, and experience with video is a plus.
The Johnstonian News evolved from the Kenly News, founded in 1973, and three zoned editions that were combined under the new title following acquisition by Restoration NewsMedia in 2018. The paper publishes news online daily and has a weekly print edition on Wednesdays.
Restoration NewsMedia is a family-owned digital and print media publisher established to restore and preserve authentic community journalism. This full-time position includes benefits and the opportunity to grow with our company. Restoration NewsMedia is an equal-opportunity employer.
To apply, send resume, cover letter and 3-5 clips to Editor Scott Bolejack at sbolejack@johnstoniannews.com. No phone calls, please.
