We are the creators of the Aged Care, Support at Home, Disability Support and Your Retirement Living printed Guides and websites, producing much-relied-upon resources for seniors, people living with disabilities and retirees, to help them and their loved ones through their aged care and disability support journey.
We are currently looking for a talented and energetic journalist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for researching, creating, and editing original content for use across our brand websites and social media channels.
About the role:
As a key member of the Editorial Team, the Journalist will play a pivotal role in contributing to the editorial and content functions for our print and online products.
Reporting to the Deputy Editor, you will research, generate, edit, and publish original and engaging content daily, targeting our aged care, retirement and disability audience.
This position is responsible for the following:
Researching, writing, and editing content and feature stories for presentation in text.
Ensuring information is factually accurate and meets regulatory standards.
Generating headline stories and photo suggestions.
Creating, writing, and editing online content related to consumer searches to increase visitors to, and interaction with, our online platforms.
Ensuring regular distribution of organic content across social platforms.
Posting on social media accounts
Driving engagement and building an online community via social channels.
About You - You will need:
Demonstrated experience in journalism, communications, social media, website management, or related fields.
Advanced knowledge of digital and social media tools, as well as Microsoft, Google and Adobe software.
Proven experience in producing, editing, and publishing news and information articles, and audio.
Ability to deliver creative content (text, image, and video) and tell compelling stories.
Excellent copywriting skills and flawless spelling and grammar.
Experience in social media and its various platforms
Excellent communicator with good interpersonal skills.
Self-motivated, proactive, and able to hit the ground running.
Strong time management and organisational skills to meet publication deadlines.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as part of a team.
Tertiary qualifications in journalism or a related field will be highly regarded.
