About The Role
Our Internal Communications team has a 8 month, fixed term, part-time (22.8 hours per week) opportunity for a Journalist/Publications Writer to join its team in Blackburn, Melbourne.
Reporting to the Publications Manager, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to research and write content for The Salvation Army’s (TSA) faith-based magazines, reports and online channels, as well as editing and proofreading.
Key Responsibilities
Gather newsworthy stories for inclusion in TSA publications, reports, online and social media channels
Prepare all components for stories (e.g. research ideas, interviews, fact-checking, writing) for the magazines and associated online channels
Secure release forms for all subjects interviewed, photographed or filmed in support of content published
Attend events for reporting and information gathering for stories as required
Proofreading duties as part of the production process.
