Alexandra Newspapers Pty Ltd, based in North Central Victoria, Australia, is an award winning community newspaper; publishers of the The Alexandra Standard and The Yea Chronicle. We have been publishing news for over 156 years.

An onsite position has become available with our busy editorial team in our Alexandra office.

ABOUT YOU
-successful completion of a formal qualification in journalism
-have news gathering initiative
-outstanding communication skills
-excellent writing, accuracy and organisational skills
-be a team player and a people person
-knowledge of Windows Microsoft programs is an advantage
-to be available every third weekend and after hours as required on a roster basis to cover events
-be able to work under the pressure of weekly deadlines
-drivers’ licence essential

THE JOB
-creating and sourcing community interest stories
-feature writing
-engage with reliable community sources
-present factual and unbiased stories
-follow our established newspaper style
-system training will be provided
-proof reading
-attention to detail
