Senior or junior… take your pick
We’re looking for someone with the right stuff - a hungry newcomer eager to make their mark, or an experienced all-rounder who lives and breathes country newspapers.
First and foremost, we want someone who will slot seamlessly into our dedicated team.
We are a fiercely ambitious, independent newspaper group, three hours west of Melbourne.
We publish The Horsham Times, Warracknabeal Herald, Dimboola Banner and Rainbow-Jeparit Argus - small newspapers with big hearts - and, unlike some regional operations, we have an exciting future.
The Horsham Times was launched just three years ago - the city’s only locally-owned newspaper. We installed a colour printing press at Warracknabeal at the end of last year - and we publish daily on our websites.
Now we are expanding - and casting the net wide to find the right person.
You will be a highly organised, reliable and motivated team player, with a nose for news, a flair for people stories and a can-do attitude.
We are committed to ensuring our group grows and thrives - and you will want to play an increasingly important role in our future.
You will be comfortable writing across all titles and - of course - fostering vitally important connections within our communities.
An interest in photography, sport, social media and rural affairs are not essential, but may well earn extra brownie points. Experience as an editor or sub-editor won’t do any harm either, if you’re applying for the senior option.
The successful candidate will have a current driver's licence, their own transport, the right to work permanently in Australia… Oh, and did we mention “the right stuff”?
Send your CV and cover letter to Tony Curran at editor@wimmeramalleenews.com.au, or call me on (03) 5319 7676.
And don’t delay… we have newspapers to put out.
