The Jewish Telegraphic Agency, the century-old news organization covering the Jewish world, seeks a social media associate editor to grow our audience, develop our community of readers, and make our journalism shine for digital news consumers. JTA’s social media associate will work closely with JTA’s team of reporters and editors as well as the audience team at 70 Faces Media, our parent company, to ensure that our stories reach our audiences and that our audiences inform our reporting.
You’ll be responsible for:
Posting JTA stories to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and emerging platforms as appropriate
Improving the audience experience for social media followers, including by moderating comments on social platforms and engaging with audiences directly
Designing and implementing efforts to hear directly from our audience at key moments when our reporters and/or readers could benefit ? In conjunction with our reporters and editors, ensuring that special projects command the reach and impact they deserve
In conjunction with the 70 Faces Media audience team, using data to understand our readers and tailor our outreach
Produce and send daily newsletters and special email updates, while working to optimize email engagement and increase traffic to our stories through email.
