What we need,

As a Junior Editor at Speed Collective, you will play a crucial role in the creation and refinement of video content. Working closely with our experienced editing team, you will contribute to the post-production process, bringing creativity and technical skills to enhance the overall quality of our projects. There is a great opportunity for growth in this position.

Primary Responsibilities:

Editing:

Convert, transcode, and compress media for the post-production workflow.
Cut and assemble raw footage into a cohesive, visually appealing story.
Collaborate with senior editors to meet project objectives and client expectations.
Finish and QC final exports and create thumbnails and deliverables as needed.

Technical Proficiency:

Familiarity with industry-standard post-production software.
(e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro/After Effects, Avid Media Composer, Davinci Resolve).
Basic understanding of color correction, audio editing, and visual effects.
Stay updated on the latest trends and technologies in post-production.

Collaboration:

Work closely with the production team to understand project goals and requirements.
Communicate effectively with team members to ensure a smooth workflow and timely project delivery.
Receive feedback gracefully and incorporate changes as needed.

Organization and Efficiency:

Manage and organize project files efficiently, per Speed Collective’s standards.
Meet deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively; flag issues with timelines or tasks to the EP in a timely manner.
Maintain consistent communication with the Production team.
Ensure project assets are properly archived in accordance with Speed Collective’s standards.
Ensure that the written format for titles and descriptions, spelling, and export settings are correct.
Thoroughly review exports and correct any errors prior to internal and client reviews.

Minimum Qualifications:

Strong portfolio showcasing editing skills and creativity.
Proficient in post-production software.
Basic knowledge of color correction, audio editing, and visual effects.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to adapt to evolving project requirements and timelines.
