Hashtag Monday was originally established in January 2020 in Manchester and began as an email marketing agency serving e-commerce brands from all over the world.

After 18 months in the game, and realizing that there were better and more impactful ways to serve our clients, we realized that being just another email marketing agency wasn’t cutting it anymore.

After getting feedback from prospective clients and existing clients, it was very clear that we needed to focus on full customer retention marketing for e-commerce brands.

Now, the focus for Hashtag Monday isn’t only on email marketing. Even though we’re a well-recognized Klaviyo Platinum agency, our focus has shifted to building tailored customer retention systems that generate profitable revenue for the amazing DTC brands that we work with.

We’re a small but mighty independent agency with over 15 team members across the globe, from Ukraine to Scotland to The Philippines.

This role is for a specific type of individual.

If you understand classic Direct Response copywriting principles from the likes of Gary Halbert and Dan Kennedy, and are confident in applying those principles to high converting e-commerce copy, then this job is for you.

You consider yourself a conceptualist, understanding the art and science of great copy. This means you have a clear vision on how you want your emails to not only read to subscribers, but also how they look visually as you collaborate with our team of designers.

You're performance driven, constantly analyzing how well your copy converts and aiming to beat the control for every piece you write. Working collaboratively with our Retention Marketing Executive, means you’ll be able to flesh out data driven ideas to come up with campaign and flow concepts for our clients.

Lastly, you consider yourself a “Brand Voice Ventriloquist”, where you can easily switch between multiple brand tones of voice as a result of following a robust and thorough research process.

Here's what a typical day would look like:

Hands on coaching, training and mentorship directly from our Founder and Director to learn more advanced conversion focused copywriting principles, and strategies including how to analyse data and beat controls
Implementing our AI workflow to work more efficiently and maintain high quality copy creatives that convert (full training provided as well as access to some of the best AI training currently available)
Data analysis and optimisation to continue to improve on assigned KPIs
Understand client business needs and formulate effective campaign ideas with the Retention Marketing Executive
Conduct intensive research to establish the tone of voice of each client following a proven framework
Produce conversion focused campaigns and flows for both Email and SMS marketing channels
As part of this role, you will be responsible for proofreading and editing all work to ensure that it is of a high standard. This includes checking for errors in grammar and spelling to ensure that the final product is error-free
As part of this role, you will be working closely with our Retention Marketing Executive to effectively analyze data and identify key areas for growth and improvement in order to continuously beat controls across all clients.
Additionally, you will attend strategy workshops with team members and participate in weekly stand-up meetings to discuss the progress of accounts that you are working on.

What we're looking for?

At least 1 year copywriting experience
Worked at an agency or with e-commerce brands
Confident switching and adapting between different clients and tones of voice
As a proactive and thorough researcher, you will go to great lengths to fully understand the brand DNA for any clients that are assigned to you. You understand that great copy is assembled and not written
Self-sufficient enough to project manage your workload and meet tight deadlines, without sacrificing quality
Ability to analyze key performance metrics to optimize copy for improved performance, and beat controls
It’s also important to be flexible enough stylistically to adjust to different brand voices, and possess excellent writing, editing & proofreading skills — meticulous attention to detail

This role is remote and the working hours are 10 am-7 pm UK time. Please note that you will be required to file your own taxes for this role.
