Kapitus is seeking a content editor to add to its marketing team. As an editor, you will be responsible for reviewing a wide range of content, overseeing our writer’s efforts and providing guidance on all content projects. The ideal candidate has an eye for detail, exceptionally strong editorial skills, and possesses the ability to communicate complex topics in a clear and engaging manner. You will act as an advocate for our audiences, while ensuring all content is high quality, aligns with our brand, and helps to meet company goals and objectives.
What You Will Do
Working with the Director of Brand to oversee content creation across multiple initiatives, including building out a comprehensive resource center/learning hub, an industry-leading blog, along with a successful content distribution engine.
Assist in building the overall content strategy and in project managing content initiatives from start to finish
Manage day-to-day operations of the content production process including assigning and approving stories, editing all written material, and providing writers with clear, constructive and actionable feedback
Review and approve all written content including blog posts, eguides, whitepapers, web copy, brochures, video and radio scripts and social media posts among others.
Fact-check all content to ensure accuracy, including verifying statistics, data, quotes; confirming sources are both credible and current.
Responsible for tone, style and "voice" of all written content within the marketing department while ensuring that all materials are of the highest quality, accurate and error-free
Where applicable, ensure content aligns with SEO best practices
Ensure that all content meets Kapitus’ high-quality standards.
What We Are Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or related field
3-5 years of experience editing content; knowledge of small business financing industry is a plus but not required
Possesses excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills
Demonstrates effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing
Has the ability to handle multiple projects and shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
Has a strong working knowledge of current SEO best practices
Works well independently; but also has a strong ability to work collaboratively and as an effective member of a team
Superior project management skills
Creative thinker and master storyteller with a strong attention to detail.

Competitive Base Salary Range of $74,600-$119,700 Kapitus is providing this as a good faith salary range to comply with applicable law. The applicant’s final salary will depend on a number of factors including the applicant’s geographic location, skills, and experience
