Anchor/MSJ

KENS5 in San Antonio, Texas, is looking for someone to anchor a morning weekday newscast and cover general news in the field.

The successful applicant must thrive in a busy newsroom where teamwork is critical to our daily success.

This is a morning anchor/MSJ reporter position.

Responsibilities:

You must be great on the desk with a strong ability to share stories with our audience.
Ability to cleanly deliver scripted content, breaking news and everything in between.
Ability to contribute content on a daily basis, building and delivering compelling packages that connect with our audience.
Must be strong in the field gathering information and fronting live reports.
Should be comfortable in on-air crosstalk with other members of the morning team.
You'll also be part of all major station events and initiatives.

Job Requirements:

Minimum 5 years of experience.
The ability to write compelling copy and tell engaging stories.
Must bring great energy to our newscasts.
Knowledge of our community and ability to develop local sources to generate unique and compelling story ideas.
Ability to excel under pressure and hit deadlines.
Travel: Occasionally: 10-25%
Work Environment: Office: normally performed in a typical interior/office environment also live in the filed across our viewing area
Physical Demands: Light work: Involves sitting most of the time, walking, lifting, bending, standing, etc.
