Design Editor

Design editor. This is a position for a person who likes the challenge of design and has an above-average interest in local and world events. The position involves designing a newspaper’s print edition — selecting stories and pictures from The Associated Press and other sources, writing headlines, placing stories/columns; downloading and placing cartoons; inputting weather information, and working closely with the editor. Good English language skills required. The position was last available five years ago. The opportunity is located in Ketchikan, Alaska, which is in the Tongass National Forest. It is very much a community conducive for an outdoor lifestyle, and it will appeal to those with a preference for avoiding big-city life.
