State Government Reporter

KUOW has a rare opening for a State Government Reporter representing the Northwest News Network to tell stories for a regional audience. The ideal candidate is an experienced reporter with in-depth knowledge of public policy and Washington state politics. This reporter will focus on stories about Washington state agencies, the Washington Legislature, the governor’s office and other state entities — and the people affected by public policy trends in the Northwest. Successful candidates will have a strong record of covering government and politics, breaking news and enterprise stories, with a keen focus on solutions, equity and accountability journalism. This position is perfect for a collaborative reporter who enjoys working with other journalists to dive deep into stories at the intersection of race, education, healthcare, and other beats.
