Law360 is seeking a News Assistant to join our London bureau. The position’s primary responsibilities are checking court dockets, monitoring regulatory databases and websites, and pitching story ideas to editors.

News Assistants also track parliamentary hearings and other noteworthy events.

This role will give aspiring journalists a chance to learn about a wide range of beats, including the courts and top enforcement agencies, policy making at the U.K. and EU governments, as well as broader business news like M&A, private equity and capital markets.

The position offers an opportunity to build your news gathering skills and develop writing and editing expertise, with a pathway toward a junior reporter role.

Requirements:

Law360 offers extensive training on legal topics. Business or legal reporting experience is not required. However, professional reporting experience and strong writing and analytical skills are required to succeed in this job.

Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field
