We are seeking a senior reporter to cover tax policy developments in Continental Europe and U.K. This reporter will be expected to develop a deep understanding of the beat and a reliable roster of sources.

Responsibilities:

Researches and writes news items for the Law360 Tax Authority newsletter.

Newsletter publishes daily so ‘spot’ news articles would be the norm, though there may be scope for longer features.

Responsible for following tax policy developments in Continental Europe and possibly also the U.K.

The focus of the position would be activities in Brussels, at the epicentre of power in the EU.

Track tax legislation from its introduction by the European Commission all the way to possible approval and implementation by member states.

Stay on top of meetings of EU finance ministers and be prepared to attend relevant press conferences.

Requirements:

Experience of writing articles about judgments, opinions and hearings of the European Court of Justice.

Experience of following tax-related hearings in the European Parliament.

English fluency required, knowledge of other European languages a plus.

Successful candidate needs to be a good self-starter though guidance from editors will be available.

Occasional travel may be required!
