A rare call for pitches on leafie. We're looking to cover a few new angles on leafie and thus my inbox is open for pitches from writers new and old who have some experience writing for culture-focused publications.
SPECIFIC FEATURES:
How the cannabis social club model could work for the UK
Cannabis in ‘other’ cultures (either lesser reported countries or groups eg religious denominations)
OPEN SUBJECTS:
Culture - We’re looking to cover culture on a regular basis. Think frequent short-form content over sporadic long-form pieces. Could you provide a weekly column on music, art, TV/film, comedy, fashion, nightlife etc. with a UK focus?
leafie adjacent content - stories that aren't directly about cannabis/psychedelics/drugs. Weird angles, hidden subcultures, strange history, unique experiences. Would it be interesting to read stoned? Would you retell the story at a party? If so, pitch it.
Crime - everyone loves true crime, we’re looking to cover untold stories or new angles on those well known, especially if they relate to drug culture.
FAQs: We don’t cover business stories. Yes, this is paid. We tend to avoid covering the US/CA unless it's especially unique but we do welcome international pitches that meet the rest of the brief and have a broad appeal to a UK/European audience.
We have a more in-depth guide on our website. - https://www.leafie.co.uk/work-with-us/
