Local Government and Education Reporter

The Bismarck Tribune, the newspaper in the capital city of North Dakota, is seeking a full-time reporter to cover local government and education in Bismarck and its sister city, Mandan. The successful candidate will also cover a variety of general assignment stories and contribute to weekend centerpieces and special projects. The Tribune is looking for someone who will find the story behind the story; someone who doesn’t wait for a press conference to get the news. We’re looking for a reporter who will dig deeper than meeting coverage and develop sources to stay ahead of developing stories. Bismarck is the state’s second-largest city. It is home to many state tournaments and activities, providing a variety of important events to cover. Bismarck and neighboring Mandan are along the Missouri River with miles of trails for outdoor recreation along with a growing food and culture scene.
