Online Editor

The North Platte Telegraph is seeking a digital-savvy individual to work in the newsroom to coordinate online content and create compelling online presentations; shoot and edit video; and assist with reporting timely, reader-useful stories for North Platte and surrounding communities. The online editor/content specialist is responsible for working with the entire newsroom team to educate and execute the newsroom’s digital news goals and initiatives. This person will also assist with copy editing and print page production. Are you well versed in determining content relevant to our audience? Are you adept at delivering news on print and evolving digital media platforms and possess strong editing and story development skills? If you are deadline driven, flexible, well-versed in AP style, and possess advanced writing, research and editing skills, and the ability to expand digital news and information, this may be the role for you! The successful candidate will have experience in digital media and at least 2 years in a newsroom as a reporter or editor. Hours will include evenings and some weekends. Preference will be given to candidates with a degree in journalism or a related field.
