Dalal & Mehta is looking for a dedicated, competent, hard-working, and highly-experienced Legal/Business CopyWriter. The CopyWriter we are seeking will draft articles related to the legal industry and/or including content around entrepreneurial and business related topics. They will also collaborate with attorneys to prepare articles that are preferred to be industry related, which will add value to the firm. Another important responsibility of a Legal Writer will be to write articles about legal issues on behalf of the law firm. A Legal Writer also needs to be adept at proofreading their own work.

FLSA: Contract | Compensation is based on each completed/approved article. DOE

Duties & Responsibilities:

Completing research on legal and business industry related topics that will add value to the firm
Writing articles on legal topics that align with the firm's core values and vision/mission
Finding the best legal sources to create accurate content
Proofreading all content for spelling, grammar, and punctuation mistakes
Working with company's PR agency to submit monthly articles for review/release
Collaborating with other members of our leadership team to make sure that all information in the documentation drafted is accurate
Revising the content for accuracy

Scope:

CopyWriter will draft a minimum of (2) articles per month; on approved topics

Skills & Education:

Bachelor's degree in Law, English, Journalism, Marketing, or a similar field. Advanced degree preferred.
More than two years of experience as a Case or Legal Writer in legal, business, etc.
Ability to decode complex legal issues and convey the information to an audience that isn't legally educated
Outstanding writing, research, and analytical skills
Thorough knowledge of the law and familiarity with public policy issues
