Global regulatory risk newswire MLex is looking for a Correspondent to cover Financial Services in the UK, based in London.
The role:
Writing for an influential audience of executives, lawyers, consultants and policymakers, you will be expected to keep on top of major developments, deliver exclusive stories, and produce sophisticated commentary and analysis.
There will also be occasions to collaborate with colleagues in Asia and the Americas, and with those covering other beats such as data privacy & security, climate change, trade, and financial crime.
Responsibilities:
You will write about a broad range of UK regulations concerning the financial services industry including prudential regulation of banks and insurers, green finance, digital currencies and other fintech applications.
Nevertheless, you need to demonstrate the ability to take overall responsibility for your beat and ensure that everything is covered with minimal oversight from editors. You must also be able to write clearly, producing stories that are both detailed and accessible to non-experts.
You will be expected to work from our office in central London at least two days a week, with the option to work from home on the other days, under our post-Covid hybrid working policy.
What we are looking for:
Interest in or knowledge of UK Financial Services regulation
Track record of producing exclusive stories
News judgment and analytical skills
Accurate writing and reporting standards
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Excellent written and spoken English
