Livingetc is for the style-minded. We know how important it is to have a nice home life, and being in a space you love can improve your mental health no end. So we are bringing you ideas big and small, for improvements that can make a vast difference, all of which will hopefully have you thinking about your home in a different way.

Livingetc is looking for a News Writer on a 6 month Fixed-Term basis to generate high-quality, compelling short-form content for its growing design and interiors website. If you’re a journalist and digital native who is used to the pace and ideation required on a news beat, we want to hear from you!

What you'll be doing…

As News Writer at Livingetc, you'll pitch and write multiple unique daily news pieces to optimise against and increase traffic through Google News and Discover, as well as Social and Partnerships channels (eg Apple News). You'll work alongside the Social Media Editor and team to translate news content onto relevant social platforms, including first-person video and stills, and combine ecommerce opportunities alongside news-led content to support revenue and traffic goals.

You'll monitor news traffic opportunities for the sites and ensure content can be created quickly and effectively to maximise that opportunity, you'll work closely with the Content Managers and the other News Editors to ensure the quantity and quality of news content delivered reaches required standards, and analyse the results achieved by news traffic, reporting back to Content Managers, and show how you can adapt our output to suit. You'll also intensively create and update content over key commercial events e.g. Black Friday, Boxing Day sales.

Experience that will put you ahead of the curve…

Proven relevant editorial experience with a background in digital.
A keen interest in homes and interiors.
SEO expertise and understanding of analytical tools, which you’ll use to form your content crafting.
Exceptional writing and editing skills.
An ability to work under pressure with a focus on goals, and deliver content to a tight turnaround.
Understanding of media law and image rights. You'll be responsible for sourcing your own images for stories and flagging any legal issues.
Self-motivation. You'll need to be able to manage your own workload and deliver to expectations.
Flexibility - news traffic doesn’t always peak 9-5 so some elements of the role might require a more flexible approach to hours at certain times of the year.
Passion for the data side of web editing and closely monitoring and interpreting performance and trends.

What's in it for you…

We have a number of awesome perks available to our staff.
