The Los Angeles Times is looking for an experienced data-minded journalist to manage SEO strategy, ensuring Times content that matters most to our audience is appearing prominently and regularly in search engines. This should be done in a variety of ways, including but not limited to keyword research, SEO calendars that emphasize timing, live competitive analysis of major stories with suggestions for improvement and alternate search angles, close work with product teams on technical improvements to the site and the CMS, and regular tracking and reporting on trends and performance using Google Analytics and other tools. As the leader of the L.A. Times SEO strategy, this person would work across all departments and alongside audience editors to make sure that the strategy is understood, implemented and regularly updated.
