Showbiz SEO Editor

MailOnline is looking for a talented Showbiz SEO Editor to join its team in London. Suitable candidates will have a background in search engine optimisation and experience of working in a fast-paced newsroom environment, as well as a keen understanding of how to increase page views and engagement, analyse performance metrics and craft engaging and relevant showbiz articles.

Applicants must demonstrate a sound understanding of SEO best practices and be able to apply those principles in a digital publishing setting. The ideal candidate will have strong organisational skills, thrive under pressure and have a passion for growing new audiences and driving traffic to the Mail brand.

Requirements and accountabilities

Significant newsroom experience and a background of working on a showbiz desk
Familiarity with a range of SEO tools (eg SEMRush, Google Trends, News Dashboard)
Ability to spot entertainment trends, identify traffic-driving opportunities and communicate those to the newsroom
Make recommendations on SEO best practices and optimise stories
Sound understanding of Google Discover, Google News, organic search and Top Stories
Be an enthusiastic evangelist for SEO in the newsroom
Be passionate about the entertainment industry and stay current on celebrity news and trends
Flexibility regarding shift patterns (evening and weekends will be required)
