Reporting to the Director General, and as a member of the RTÉ Executive Board, the Managing Director of News and Current Affairs is a key leader of the organisation. As one of the most high-profile positions in Irish media, the successful candidate will be an exceptional leader with proven editorial judgement, coupled with a passion for public service media storytelling and programme making. RTÉ operates in a highly competitive global media market, where technology is rapidly transforming the way audiences demand and consume content. Whilst RTÉ’s public service mission remains constant, the way in which it delivers on this mandate must respond to advancements and changes within the global media industry. The successful appointee will play a leading role in continuing RTÉ’s journey of transformation in responding to ongoing change.
