The Hood County News is seeking a highly motivated individual whith a background in community newspapering to join its award winning staff in producing the best bi-weekly newspaper in Texas. The ideal candidate should be highly motivated, have a commitment to excellence, and be willing to explore new frontiers in community newspapering. They should have strong writing skills, plus an ability to work in a team setting while making decisions and assigning tasks to other team members. Good organizational skills, the ability to work on deadlines and to multitask are all essential. The successful candidate must be open-minded to new ideas and way to report the news and present it to our readership. We are not your grandmother's newspaper and we don't want to be. Must have knowledge of AP style and experience in Adobe Suites, especially InDesign. While editorial experience is necesary, priority will be given to those who are willing to work as a team and are motivated to set new standards for community journalism. The Hood County News is located ont he banks of beautiful Lake Granbury, less than a 45 minute drive from the Ft Worth metro. Granbury is one of the fastest growing cities in America and three times been awarded the best Historic Small Town in America by USA Today. Our community is clean, safe, and energized with robust tourism activities, the lake as well as a vibrant town square which offers multiple entertainment venues.
