Senior News Editor

Marie Claire is looking for a Senior News Editor to help manage the day-to-day digital production of our Fashion and Beauty verticals. Reporting to the Digital Director and working closely with the Fashion Director and Beauty Director, you’ll edit and oversee digital content including fashion and beauty news, buying guides, reviews, launches, and more. These will be original, on-brand stories designed to delight and expand Marie Claire’s audience. You’ll monitor the performance of those stories across channels and iterate on successes; coordinate strategy and coverage of live events; help manage the Fashion and Beauty team’s SEO strategies; and attend events and previews on behalf of the Fashion and Beauty team.

Work closely with Fashion and Beauty Directors to edit 5-7 stories each day from writers and editors within the verticals
Ensure that Fashion and Beauty digital content is in line with the elevated luxury feel of the brand, from market to imagery
Help manage all aspects of Marie Claire’s Fashion and Beauty verticals, from SEO strategy to budget to scheduling
Coordinate strategy and coverage on live events, including but not limited to awards season, red carpet events, and film festivals
Work alongside the commerce and social teams to best optimize Fashion and Beauty stories
Assist with Beauty awards as necessary
Attend events and previews as representative of Fashion and Beauty teams
Monitor content performance across acquisition channels and brainstorm ways to further reach those audiences

Experience That Will Put You Ahead Of The Curve…

Experience in digital media, specifically with fashion, beauty, and commerce spaces
Willingness to appear as talent in Marie Claire’s social platforms and videos
Experience editing stories and/or managing junior writers
Pitch-perfect understanding of how to optimize digital content, from headlines and market to imagery, in line with a luxury fashion and beauty brand
Strong organizational and time management skills
Experience in search engine optimization and commerce strategy

Please note, the salary range for this position is: $78,000 - $83,000
