The purpose of the marketing and editorial writer (MEW) is to provide excellent written communications for the MarCom team. The MEW will write email and marketing content, write long-form stories and articles, and serve as an editor on the writing team by performing the following duties while adhering to NCF’s brand standards and proofing/editing guidelines.
This position is a hybrid role based out of our office in Alpharetta, GA.

Duties & Responsibilities
Marketing Writing
Writes and produces original promotional and instructional content for emails, brochures, web pages, concept sheets, event campaigns, and other communications according to MarCom processes and style
Uses WordPress to post content to web pages
Long-Form Storytelling
Research, interviews, and writes stories about givers, charity leaders, and causes to serve NCF givers for our website, Saturday 7, print pieces, and other communications
Content Creation/Writing for Local-Office Pilot Project
Assists local office marketing manager with content for three local offices by producing stories, web copy, emails, and other pieces to meet local-office needs
Serves as editor for all local-office content
Editing
Serves as an editor for the MarCom team
Assists the director of editorial and content with developmental editing, copyediting, and proofing
Exercises attention to detail to help keep projects consistent and on time
Saturday 7/Editorial Team
Helps to plan content for NCF’s weekly Saturday 7 publication
Assists in selecting stories for publication
Other Duties And Responsibilities
Performs reading and independent research
Stays up to date on DAF- and cause-related news
Stays current on the development of any new NCF solutions, experiences, offerings, or research

Education
Bachelor’s degree in communications/marketing/journalism/English or related
Additional marketing or writing education/experience is a plus
Experience
A minimum of seven (7) years’ experience in professional writing positions
A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in non-profits and/or fundraising preferred
Knowledge Base
Expert-level knowledge in writing and communications
Familiarity with WordPress, editing, and design software a plus
