Moishe (pronounced moy-shuh) House is what being Jewish in your 20s is all about. Launched in 2006 when four friends began hosting Shabbat dinners in their home, Moishe House provides a space for over 70,000 young adults around the world to create meaningful, welcoming Jewish communities for themselves and their peers each year. To date, there are more than 150 communities in over 40 countries, and we’re still growing!

Moishe House seeks a Marketing Content Strategist and Writer, to develop engaging written material for all channels. This position works with all of Moishe House’s departments to uncover interesting stories and produce informative and compelling pieces of writing for our different audiences including community builders, donors, partners, and staff. Working closely with the VP, Global Marketing & Communications, the Marketing Content Strategist and Writer will inform the organization-wide content strategy. Additionally, this position will help guide and determine our process of establishing our organizational voice as we emerge from a organizational brand update that is currently in process.

You enjoy working in a fast paced, “roll-up your sleeves” environment, happy to pitch in to get things done. You love working as part of a team, and are also able to work independently to get things done.
You’ll work closely with VP, Global Marketing and Communications to create a comprehensive communications strategy to tell our organization’s story and our specific program stories across all platforms.
You’ll work across all departments to understand their programs and audiences and develop strategies for how content can help them achieve their goals.
You’ll be responsible for execution of established organization and program content strategy including setting priorities, establishing schedules, conducting research, collaborating with other teams to ensure that content is high quality and adheres to timelines.
You’ll be the lead content writer for email, website, blog, and program-specific materials including fliers, event materials, and recruitment assets. During an average month, you’ll likely produce 5 - 7 emails, 4 - 6 blog posts, 3 - 4 website updates, 4 - 6 donor communications, and other projects as they arise. Monthly writing assignments will be consumed by our different audiences: community builders, donors/funders, staff, general public.
You demonstrate an understanding of our different audiences and messaging hierarchies and ensure that all work aligns with our brand and tone of voice guidelines.
You'll copyedit work produced by other teams to ensure all content adheres to brand and tone of voice guidelines, and collaborate with our social media and public relations contractors to take advantage of opportunities to use content across platforms.
You’ll manage and respond to all incoming communications inquiries or route to appropriate teams for quick follow-up.
In addition to writing, you’ll also help build and send emails and work with our translators to ensure communications are being shared with audiences in their native languages.
You’ll manage our website CMS in partnership with the web development team, analyze and report on content effectiveness, and suggest opportunities for improvement.
You’re detail-oriented, resourceful, and organized; you can manage multiple projects simultaneously and are self-motivated to meet deadlines, managing your time well and reprioritizing projects when urgent needs arise.
You’re open to learning new things and trying new ways of solving problems.
You have a minimum of 5 years full-time post-undergraduate professional experience as a successful writer/ content strategist.
You have a Bachelor's Degree in English, Communications, Leadership, or another related field, or additional four years of full-time relevant experience.
You’re bringing proven intermediate skills with Microsoft Office and other office management tools. Experience with Wordpress CMS or another backend-CMS strongly preferred.
Your public speaking, presentation and written communication skills are independently strong.

The Fine Print:

This is a full-time position, requires weekday hours, with occasional weekend and evening hours to complete job requirements, and reports to the Vice President, Global Marketing & Communications.

This position is based in one of our U.S. Hub Offices (Charlotte, NC, Chicago, IL, Encinitas, CA, Washington, D.C., or NYC). Our team works a hybrid schedule at our Hub Offices, where employees can choose to work remotely 2 days per week and collaborate in-person with coworkers the rest of the week.

Moishe House requires "full vaccination" for all staff to travel, work in offices, and participate in any Moishe House group gatherings. We use the CDC's definition of "full vaccination" as the standard, with variations based on country as needed.

How Moishe House Pays You:

Moishe House’s starting salary ranges are based on education, experience, location, and skillset required for each role.

The starting salary range for this full-time exempt position is:
Charlotte, NC: $65,000 - $70,000
Chicago and Encinitas: $68,000 - $72,000
NYC and D.C.: $74,000 - $78,000
